Only people who have completely seared their consciences can't admit that there is good and evil, right and wrong, and truth and lies in the world. It takes an incredible amount of selfishness to be able to look at things going on around us and be able to shrug our shoulders and say, "oh well, it's not affecting my world". If anything good has come out of the last few years, it has been the amount of people who are finally willing to admit, "something isn't quite right and there seems to be something much more powerful going on than we at first thought". There is an incredible awakening happening.
I don't like to disagree Rob, but we are grownups and, I like to think friends, so i'm sure we'll be OK ;-), but I'm not seeing a great awakening. What I am seeing is people that have just got bored of the current narrative and the government scale back the tyranny slightly to accomodate the masses. Obviously, i can only speak of the UK. I try to talk to as many people as possible, and sure, they get that its all corrupt, and the Jabs are not all they were cracked up to be, but they just don't seem to give a shit generally. I am left just waiting for the next thing to go off for them all to blindly comply like they did last time.
But having said this, i'm ok with that, i've found my peace, and maybe, once they have their dark night of the soul, they will find theirs too.
Thanks Gary. Do you know, I still remember quite clearly when I felt this. After about 6 weeks of lockdown and seeing nursing home residents treated like prisoners, behind glass or perspex screens while crying and just longing to hold their loved ones but being refused in the last moments of their lives. I couldnt see how anything other than true, unadulterated evil could be responsible for allowing this, or be capable of convincing otherwise good people that this was in any way acceptable.
Well.......... Would it be too much to suggest that there are more choices than Atheism (which simply means one does not believe in deities, not that one doesn't believe in ANYTHING....) and Biblical psychobabble like Revelation...
To sleep, perchance to dream...
Me personally, I suspect that whatever it is we Human types have devised to explain the Divine is most likely a bit lacking... Well, since we have a very limited understanding of things, it's not mean to say that... And most of what we have been told is thousands of years old, which could be helpful, or not helpful.
Yes, I believe in the Sacred. Do I understand what that means, absolutely? Hell, no. ;) But I know when things feel right, and when they feel wrong-- And I think you do, too. Do yourself a favor... just my suggestion, of course you should do whatever you want... Forget the Biblical stuff and just pay attention to the Now.
It's pretty clear Bill Fucking Gates ain't the Angel of Mercy... ;)
I did enjoy this post! Thanks for that! ^_^ And as my good friend Lennon would say, "Love is all you need."
I think we're pretty much in the same place Jaan. With the exception of the bible stuff 😁. Truth is I'm coming round to biblical prophecies, but not religion. But trying to sort original message from corrupted dogma is proving difficult.
Its fair to say that I don't understand revelation, I've never actually read the Bible having been an ignorant atheist for most of my life, but I have researched evidence for the Bible and found that most interesting. The bible is on the bookshelf and waiting to be read behind a few other books. This is not to dismiss it though, as I do think there are many truths In the Bible, but I also think there are many truths in other historic texts and documents, getting to the answers will take more than my lifetime. Thanks for your interest Baldmichael.
Just keep in mind, ALL the "sacred writings" from every religion or holy person or whatever, were written BY PEOPLE, just like you. "Original messages" are most likely meant for people at the time... and were interpreted by THOSE guys at THAT point, according to what they wanted or needed to think... Ancient people weren't necessarily any wiser than we are... That's my thought on that...
I was raised as a Christian. Some of the Bible strikes me as very wise, some of it poetic, some of it as crowd control, and some of it as absolute nonsense... I think a LOT of it has issues that are to do with translation. And I think a LOT of it is political.
Do you meditate? I'd suggest you try that for a while, and it does take a bit of practice, as most people tend to fall asleep at first... it's very relaxing. It's a kind of discipline, really, a way of having focus without getting all caught up in the mechanics... You can use a candle, or a mantra, or observe something mundane, like a bit of string... Whatever works for you.
And if you have a question, ASK. It might come to you when you're not expecting it, but, if you're paying attention, you'll get an answer, sooner or later.
I once did an elaborate ritual with a friend of mine, who was very keen to do go through it, and we had candles in the four Directions, and it was all very elaborate... He told me to ask a Question, and wait for the answer. So I asked, "What should I do with my life?" After a long time, the Answer came to me: "Eat your vegetables." :)
I think the main thing is Trust. There are two things I feel when I am thinking about the Divine... Love, and Trust. For and of IT, not of someone's writings, or someone's stories, but of that connection. We're all connected already, we simply have to pay attention. xo
I agree almost completely about the bible Jaan. I do meditate, though not as much as i used to, though I keep saying I sould do it some more. It really does help with answers, you are quite right. And yes, we most certianly are connected, though unfortunately, most people's antennae are broken.
It's a time of broken-ness, my friend. This is why those of us who have the wherewithal should be setting the example... and we ARE! Thanks for being so cool, and lovely, and hugs to ya. ^_^
The Bible is badly translated in parts, in fact in a lot of places. One has to listen with the ear to the sounds of words to understand its meaning as much as anything.
This is why it says 'let him who has an ear to hear let him hear'.
If you are going to meditate on the words in the Bible one must break it up, listen to the sounds, the syllables. Take the words and anagram them, you will be surprised what you find.
But to dismiss Revelation as psychobabble in your earlier comment shows a distinct lack of understanding as to its structure and form, let alone anything else. It applied the moment it was written but has particular resonance today as we approach the final act of history.
Still, I like the reference to ASK. If you don't ask, you won't get as they say.
And eating vegetables is a good answer to good health! As to why this should be so might require some digging. But as 'ave best leg' is an anagram of vegetables perhaps it is in the word 'vegetables'.
Of course you're absolutely entitled to your own interpretations and opinions, I would only suggest that the Bible may or may not be some kind of TRUTH, it may or may not have been changed along the way, it may or may not have had everyone involved in the writing of these books, as they call the compendium, actually trying to be honest and truthful... I don't just trust something like that when I have no way to verify the writers' intentions... Or the possibility of subterfuge by others (like the Romans)...
That said, ever hear of The Jesus Seminar? Very interesting group, and individuals of that group have written interesting books, too. They were Biblical scholars who spoke the languages and so were a bit more accurate about the translations...
Then there's the Nag Hammadi Library... Ever read the Gospel of Thomas? Fascinating.
The whole thing is very simple. We live in the mind of God. All language is His. History is His story, He is the author of it. We write our stories with His story. Our bodies are made up of language as are our souls.
So truth can be found in all sorts of places and in all languages. But ultimately truth comes together in Jesus Christ.
I have never heard of the Jesus Seminar. It seems they dispute the existence of a historical Jesus. I assume Wikipedia is correct but it says:
"The Seminar began by translating the gospels into modern American English, producing what they call the "Scholars Version", first published in The Complete Gospels.[23] This translation uses current colloquialisms and contemporary phrasing in an effort to provide a contemporary sense of the gospel authors' styles, if not their literal words. The goal was to let the reader hear the message as a first-century listener might have. "
Oh dear, the same old problem. We have so called scholars thinking they know best, rather like doctors and vaccines. Well I have never trusted doctors that much and now hardly at all and I never trusted so called self appointed 'scholars'.
I will consider what anybody says, but at 63 years of age now I have covered a lot of ground and understand what I did not fully understand in my teens when I started considering seriously what Jesus taught and who He really was.
As to your comment "I don't just trust something like that when I have no way to verify the writers' intentions", how pray do you verify anyone's intentions?? Ultimately it is a matter of faith based on the evidence before you.
But given that many of those who wrote parts of the Bible have died rather than deny who Jesus said He was, that is part of the evidence.
I'd agree with much of what you're saying, except my wording is different.
I can't think that whatever it is that created the Universe (and other ones, too, maybe?) would have a GENDER, or if so, just ONE. It's just too anthropomorphic for this dog...
And while I find the Bible very interesting, I am not willing to trust that it is "absolute truth," if that even exists in our ability to understand things... Cheers, m'dear, we're clearly on the same side of things, in our colorful ways... And I include Rob Dubya in that, too, of course. xo
I like you are wrestling with faith and doubt but I think a push toward faith is winning. I only hope that the creator doesn’t desert us in our hour of need. It seems that the evil entity who is trying to devour us might be in the ascendency but it might just be the time when God overtly fights back and shows the upstar who really is the master of all. At least I hope so! Keep strong and seek out the one who is our stronghold. I hope for the day when faith is justified and we like the prodigal son can return to th Father who has been patiently waiting.
KC more appears to me as a bumbling fool, an actor over his head, can't play the part, taking the easy way out (that depopulation mantra).
The over riding reason the climate is acting normal is because the climax forests are being eliminated. Look it up, climax forests moderate the climate. Why the hell else did the climate stabilize relatively speaking some 10-12000 years ago?
God didn't save King Saul, he didn't save Jesus from the Romans (freaking bastards), and he isn't going to stabilize the climate for us either. We will have to do it ourselves or suffer the normal climate as this rock spinning around the sun has had for most if its existence.
Thats interesting Rick, I have just looked up climax forests. Thanks. I have no doubt they are being eliminated and also have no doubt that that can only be bad new for climate stability, thoug I do think that, given how complex the eco and solar and geo systems are that there are million things that impact the climate. I just don't agreee that CO2 plays any part, certainly not past a certain saturation point that are way past, even given how low CO2 PPM is at present. I have, for a long time had the thought that, seeing as industrial greenhouses pump in CO2 to to get massive positive growth in the plants they grow, surely this shousl also happen with the earth on a macro scale. And seeing as they industrial greenhouses need to keep buying in more CO2 clearly the plants absorb whatever extra CO2 is available, as should the ecosystem absorb any extra CO2 that is pumped out. So therefore, I deduce that we are simply not pumping it out fast enough to increase the CO2 levels as the vegetation/ seas around the world can absorb whatever we pump out. previous levels of CO2 at the 8000PPM mark would have been at times of very high geothermal activity and very little vegetation growth due to the sun being blocked by ash etc.
Anyway, bit of a long reply there, but thanks for the info on climax forests.
Ok thanks for the reply. Plenty to think about with your ideas. Although I've read all the worse news and considered it, I am more of the mind to watch the ice on the Arctic Ocean for real time climate change. Even of a worse case scenario ensues, and extremes are rare to begin with, how the heck am I suppose to know what in particular is changing the climate?
Sorry Rick, I hope you didn't take my reply as criticism. It wasnt meant that way, more just as a conversation. I don't really know whats happening with the world and climate, I just have to trust the learned opinions of others. I am against environmental destruction and believe that free energy is available and the technology stolen. I'd rather we all used clean energy, but having said that, I don't think burning Coal and oil is really causing any change to the climate.
That's fine, you can think what you want as far as I'm concerned.
If you asked me, and you didn't, I tend to think carbon emissions have an impact albeit a low one. Maybe 20%. If there were a certain coverage of the surface with climax forests there would be no problem, maybe even an obvious ice age beginning in earnest about now. But maybe not since climax forests moderate the climate - proven fact and again, could be why the climate moderated the last 12,000 years of something. Kind of lucky never ever to be duplicated again is my view.
Thanks Rick, I like an open forum, please dont hold back on any opinions. Open discussion is how we learn new ideas. Im going off now to learn about climax forests. Cheers
I think I agree with you pretty much. It seems that everything contradicts everything. I definitely believe that more and more people are beginning to believe in God or rekindling a belief. I hope all of our fears are unfounded and us conspiracy theorists are wrong but I’m not so sue.
Thank you for your comment Terry. It seems that everything is coming at once. Or maybe none of it is really happening at all and everything is just our imagination manifesting itself. I definitely believe in something more to life than material. I am still trying to figure out what that is.
I have been thinking that even Jehovah Witnesses must be laughing as they see what mess we are tangling ourselves into. Yes I am becoming more spiritual. I need to find me and my place here as a good soul on Earth

Very interesting and intriguing ideas.
"I came to a belief that the force of evil was an actual, tangible" - I am with you on this.
Thanks Gary. Do you know, I still remember quite clearly when I felt this. I couldnt see how anything other than true, unadulterated evil could be responsible for allowing this, or be capable of convincing otherwise good people that this was in any way acceptable.
For me it was when I saw kids being sacrificed in the name of profits and ideology.
